When I saw the January Picture Inspiration I knew I wanted to play along, it has taken me a while to get things organized, I have had the image printed for at least a week but finally got colouring last weekend. The challenge ends soon so I need to get this posted. Almost everything was in my “odd” box, it’s the place where I put my leftovers from die cutting, so I just added some patterned paper and the Merry Christmas, voila’ it was done. The sentiment was also in the scrap box and the red on in inside also.
I added some snowflakes and red rhinestones and white opal liquid pearl to the hats.
Close-up of the super cute birds
I used a leftover scrap of patterned paper and a strip of red to the Top Note die cut for the inside sentiment.
Well we don’t have a lot of snow but I understand it will be arriving tomorrow, that is if the meteorologist is right, but the challenge over at Meljen’s Designs is “Let it SNOW”, it has been a while since I made a ‘winter” card so it wasn’t too hard, the image was already printed in my “already printed box” so I coloured it up and this is what I designed.
The white layer is embossed with a cuttlebug snowflake folder. The sketch came to my in-box this morning from Tuesday Morning Sketches and I knew it was perfect for the image.
Shopping our Stashwant you to make a Love/Valentine card, Valentines day is only a couple of weeks away and you need to make your Honey a card so I hope you will join us for the fun, My card fold is almost a total case of a Christmas card I received from snarky sister Lee. I left the length but made the card so it fit in an A2 envelope. Have a look………
My image is a House Mouse Designs stamp, The flourish has been in my scrap box for at least a year, the pearls and lace are years old too and the buckle is probably 5 years old even the cardstock is about 13 years old, it’s a 12 X 12 paper pad I bought at our old Wal-mart before they built a super store and moved. Now that is shopping my stash to the limit.
Detailed picture of the buckle embellishment.
Left over part of the flourish
The inside for the sentiment.
Hello family, friends and followers, if you live on the Eastern seaboard I hope you have battened down the hatches, looks like a good storm approaching. Now you will have time to join us at Clear it Out Tuesday for our NEW challenge, the theme is Thank you and the stash item is Stitching real or faux. the sponsor for the challenge is Melonheadz Illustrating. I chose the girl in the polka dot dress for my project and I hunted down my sewing machine to do a feather stitch around the image and the patterned paper layer. The most difficult part was threading the needle oh yes finding the box of thread spools. Here is my finished card.
The flowers on the corner are from my stash and added the green rhinestones both flowers and gems are ancient.
I would like to add this to this challenge: Cheerful Sketches (ends today)
Thanks for stopping by today and stay warm and safe.
I don’t send a lot of Valentines and I didn’t make a traditional “red” heart valentine but did make the flowers pink. I’m still looking for the few valentine stamps I have so I just added a cute strip of candy hearts to the sentiment spot. The sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps, I like to go surfing to see what they have to offer. There are rubber stamps as well as digital ones, and quite few different artists. This week I chose Blossom by Theresa Sherman. It is a beautiful image with lots of flowers and a butterfly.
I made an easel card using Labels 8 spellbinder dies and Decorative Labels 8, I added some spica glitter pens to the flowers and bracelet but it really doesn’t show in the picture.
There is the base and the candy hearts
Here is the card standing up.
Thanks for stopping by today and head over to The Cheerful Stamp Padand check out what the rest of the design team have for your inspiration. Hope to see your Valentines soon.
The design team at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamperswould like you to make a project from one of the 25 challenges from 2014. Check out the awesome badge that is flashing on the left side of my blog, it has all the challenges on it. I chose to do K is for Kraft, I went to the photos to see what I had done for all the challenges and I couldn’t find the K challenge. It was around August 17 and that is when my hubby was having health problems and I must have just taken a break. I love Kraft and blue, Kraft and pink even Kraft and riding hood red so here is what I came up with for the challenge.
I inked the background stamp with versafine vintage sepia and stamped it on kraft from recollections. layered it on bashful blue and the base is Kraft. The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches #170, the image is from House Mouse Designs.
It’s humour me day at the Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug Challenge BlogMy image is from Bugaboo Stamps, take a look at their store and see the fun digis, especially Stella and Gus. I used a Stella image and it’s a Get Well card.
Catch the Bug challenge blog has a Birthday Bash going on from January 17th to 23rd 2015, it’s their 5th Birthday. As usual I’m getting them done a day or two or three late, I don’t like to squeeze too many posts into one day, I did Day 2 Sunday which is a sketch.
The mirrored balloons I bought at Dollarama somewhere about 5 to 7 years ago, am so happy to use up some stash. Here is the sketch. I made it into a vertical card,
The sentiment was part of the image package and I sized it large enough to use as and inside sentiment. I used Labels 8 die to cut it out. The image and sentiment are from Bugaboo Stampsone of my favourite digi stores and they are Canadian. Check them Out!!!
I would like to enter this in these challenges: Catch the Bug Birthday Bash ….Sketch Crafty Hazel nut’s patterned paper challenge for January
Thanks for stopping by today to see what I have been up to and come back again real soon I’m going to play catch up in the Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug.
Shopping our Stashwant you to use special papers you have been hoarding, Glitter, foil, corrugated, canvas, cork, honeycomb are a few suggestions. I used some red foil I have had for hmmm well over 5 years, it’s so pretty.
As you can see foil doesn’t photograph very well but it’s there, I also use some vellum for the sentiment. The image is a freebie from Meljen’s Design club on Facebookthe challenge is open until January 31, 2015. Meljen’s images can be found HERE.
This week’s theme at Clear it Out Tuesdayis Valentine and the stash item you have to use is Flowers. The sponsor is a favourite of ours Bugaboo Stamps. I chose a really cute dragon called Clyde, I have a couple of the images and they are great for little boy cards. Here is what I came up with.
I coloured the image and fussy cut it out so I could put it on a wobble, and it really works fabulous.
You can see how well it works in this picture.
The digi is Clyde made with love and the sentiment was part of the package.
Week 1 of a Valentine challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Padand the sponsor for this challenge is Sweet Pea Stamps. Oh my gosh there are some awesome digis there, it was so hard to choose one to use for this challenge. I finally settled on one from Ching-Chou Kuik called red hearts. I did colour the hearts red but I wanted to colour her up in turquoise. This is my first time colouring up one of these fairies.
I made an easel card, the dies I used were Labels 8 and Decorative labels 8 and fancy labels but trimmed it to fit, then added a couple of sparkly buttons to keep the card from closing.
Such a beautiful image and fun to colour too.
If you haven’t checked out the main blog, head over and see what awesome projects the rest of the design team have done.
The Crew at Shopping Our Stashwants you to play Hide and Seek for challenge # 184. We want to you to put a hidden element on or in your card or use a picture of someone playing hide and seek. I went through a long list of ideas for my Hide and Seek card and finally decided on one, you will have to scroll down to see what I’m hiding in my card.
I used one of the stamps I found in my Christmas Stocking wow was I surprised when I saw them. I have a lot of Stamping Bella stamps but not any uptown girls. This one is Claudia has a Candy. I used my favourite colour Purple and lots of it. This is for a friend that also has loves purple and dragonflies. The die cuts are spellbinders Labels 8 and Decorative labels 8. And now for my hidden element………..
Oh no not yet… here is a close up of the dragonfly and now the hidden element…….
My card is hiding a note pad. It is an easel note pad holder and I found the easy to follow tutorial HERE.I hope that works it’s a video link. There is a space on the back to put a sentiment.
Are you as tired of Winter as I am already? I’m getting to the point I don’t want to venture out at all in this –11 C or –20 F weather. I would rather stay in and craft anyway and that’s what I have been doing!!! Clear it Out Tuesday has a new challenge for this week..challenge #61 Theme use PINK and the stash item is use Pink things. The sponsor for this challenge is Odd Ball Art. the design team is doing freestyle for the images for the challenge. It sure is nice to play with a pretty colour for a change.
I used a stamp from House Mouse Designs, as you can see the little critters are all wrapped up in the yarn keeping warm. The sketch is from the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge, I found the 5 1/4 inch square card bases and envelopes at the dollar store for $1.50 and they came with Valentine embellishments, I used assorted patterned papers from a paper pad from Wal-Mart. The pink metal dots are from my stash. The sentiment is computer generated.
Are these not the sweetest little faces you have ever seen?
Wow do I have a surprise for you!!! at the 11th hour we received our super cute, cute images from Odd Ball Art and since my blog post was already done I am just putting a post script at the end. Odd Ball Art is giving three images for the challenge prize and it's well worth it, check out the main blog as most of us did an extra for the challenge. I picked a dragonfly girl and used a sketch that just appeared on Facebook this morning how cool is that. I took a few liberties with the sketch like flipping it and putting the flowers and sentiment on the opposite side but you get the general idea.
I coloured her wings with an Atyou Spica Twinkling like Stars to give them sparkle. Now I know you want to join in the challenge to use pink.
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to head over to the Clear it Out Blog for all the rules on playing and while you are there check out the rest of the design team projects. they are pink and awesome.
The second week of the cold snap continues here in SWO too, I;m getting so I don’t even want to go out, which might be good, I get more done at home. At the Cheerful Stamp Pad we start the second week of the Monograms challenge, the sponsor is Floppy Latte from Stitchy Bear Outlet.Since we were given quite a few different digis to play with it was hard to decide what to make. Last week I altered a notebook for hubby with his initial on it. This week I chose the letter D to use and I made a Gift Card Holder.
It was dumpster diving in my scrap basket and voila’ I had everything to make this gift card holder. I cut the a & d with my alpha dies from cuttlebug. I have no idea where I found the tutorial for this project but here are the measurements.
The base (I used black) 7 X 4 1/4 inches scored at 2 1/2 and 5 1/2
I added an extra layer of white as I wasn’t happy with the patterned paper on the black.
The patterned paper Cut 2 pieces 4 X 2 1/4 and one piece 4 X 1 1/4
The belly band base 9 1/2 X 1 1/8 patterned paper 4 3/8 X 1
The short flap is the bottom and you put the smaller patterned paper on it. the larger two pieces go on the front and the inside of the top flap.
Using strong narrow tape attach the sides of the small flap to make a pocket. The belly band goes around the whole project and attaches at the back with a strong tape, this will slide off and on. Then put the small strip of patterned paper on the front of the belly band and decorate.
This shows you the inside after you take the belly band off. I have a Tim’s Card in there for Dad that likes to join his pals for coffee. It could be used for Father’s Day or a Birthday.
Well this is a longer post than I planned but if you want a fairly simple and easy gift card holder this is the one to try. I hope you will show us how you use monograms.
I would like to enter this in these challenges: Hiding in my Craft Room Super Scraps Saturday challenge #182 Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge for January
Thanks for stopping by today and have a crafty week!!!
Here I am cosy in my warm house looking out the window at the awesome winter scene, I’m hoping it looks like wallpaper and wainscoting, with a brown chair rail. I didn’t stamp and colour the scene, my daughter gave me a notecard and said “ I think you could do something with this” well seems to me it was a challenge and I took advantage of it. Here is the notecard I started with.
I have never altered a bought card before and it was fun deciding how to make it mine.
Close up through the window, I put some clear acrylic to make it look like glass and popped it up on 3d Zots.
I have decided this is a Thank You card I am giving to a neighbour that kindly gave us a container of home made sugar cookies. It was a tradition his Mom started and he hand delivered to a few of the neighbours.
I would like to enter this in Crafty Gals Corner challenge #1 Anything goes & blog hop. They are the new kid on the challenge block so check them out.
Thanks for stopping by today and we would like to see your Winter themed card. Just add it to the link at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, while you are there check out what my team mates have done, some have some snark on them too.
Looking for my Clear it Out blog post just scroll down or click HERE.
It’s the first challenge of 2015 at Shopping Our Stashthe theme is Happy NEW Year, the emphasis being NEW, we want to see your new “stuff”. For my card today I used a NEW sketch, a NEW digital image from Lacy Sunshine and a NEW 2 in 1 EK punch.
The image is champagne Enchantress from Lacy Sunshine Designs she is a free image from the Lacy Sunshine Facebook page. for the December challenge but there was too much going on to get it done, and now here she is in all her elegance. The sketch is from Sweet Sunday Sketches and it’s going to be a favourite sketch blog to visit.
I’m trying to get lots of Birthday cards done as I think there are 6 I need for this month. Close up of her sweet face.
