Christmas in July with the Drunken Stampers.

Wow it has been so long since I have done a  challenge at Drunken Stampers, The last three challenges I have had ideas and the stamps picked out but just plumb ran out of time to do them. It’s summer and we spend a lot of time at our cottage on Lake Erie and I have to tote  “stuff” to do crafting, it is inevitable that I leave things at home, Hubby said the other day when he was putting the “box” in the car, it would be easier if you had two of everything wouldn’t it LOL.

Since it was Christmas in July with a summer twist I had the perfect image for the challenge, it is a digi stamp from Bugaboo, a surfing penguin. The image was coloured  with prisma pencils and odourless mineral spirits, The dsp is from a paper pack, sentiment and holly leaves  from Hero Arts and the cute Santa hat is from High Hopes, a Canadian company. I used white fun flock on the Santa hat, his sunglasses are covered with paper glaze.
Thanks for dropping in to see if I have been crafting, stop by the Drunken Stampers challenge blog there is still a couple of days to add your project.

Christmas in July have you joined us yet?

With all this hot, hot, hot weather we have been having in South Western Ontario it’s fun to think “cool” and great to get a jumpstart on Christmas cards. We are half way though the challenge at Clear it Out. have you linked your project yet? Digi Darla is our sponsor for the challenge.

I have finally inked up a PSX stamp I have had for years, unfortunately the company no longer is in business but if you are lucky you can still find some stamps. i love poinsettias and the only ones that stay looking great are the ones I stamp. I inked the stamp with versa mark watermark and embossed in gold embossing powder on black cardstock. I painted the image with twinkling H20s, it took three layers to get the look that I wanted, then  I layered it on gold then on Real Red cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to get out your Christmas stamps and join Clear it Out challenge blog for Christmas in July and don’t forget to use your red/green stash.

Summertime (and the living is easy)

I am really getting into doing challenges again so I checked out Penny Black Saturday and found a few surprises, they are doing a MONTHLY challenge, how great is that I might get mine in on time now. If you can remember last year I missed the deadline on a couple. New look for the blog too and to celebrate they are having a blog hop.

My idea of summertime is a picnic, and in my supply of stamps there was a Penny Black critter stamp that hadn’t seen any ink, that is sad, but I inked it with Memento tuxedo black and coloured with prisma pencil crayons and odourless  mineral spirits.Summertime also  means bright  colours and yellow is the brightest colour I can think of, the designer paper I found in my scrap box and works perfectly with cardstock from Stampin;up, daffodil delight and tempting turquoise. I didn’t have a sentiment here at the cottage so I will finish it at home.

Thanks for looking today and check out the Penny Black Saturday and create your summertime project.

Let’s get a little “Fruity”

I am on a roll this week and I am working on challenges, I haven’t done a challenge in a long while either. You all  know my passion for House Mouse, Gruffies and Happy Hoppers so just had to ink up my new stamps I bought at Butterfly Moon. There was the perfect challenge at House Mouse and Friends (it ends Sunday night). The image was stamped with Memento tuxedo black and coloured with prisma pencil crayons and odourless mineral spririts. I used Razzleberry cardstock and some coordinating designer paper. I added some white ribbon and popped the three raspberries up that Amanda is juggling.

Quick and Easy but not Simple

July wow I have so many birthday cards to make, my friends seemed to gang up on me……5 birthdays between the 30th of June and the 10th of July. One card delivered but 4 to go and I was in a time crunch so I had a plan…make them all the same at the same time and wow how easy that was. Normally one card one day but I made all four in the afternoon and they look FABULOUS.
A while back we had a “get together” with shoe box swaps and Judy sent the card kit for us to make, originally the idea cam from       Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie, this blog is worthwhile checking out, lots of tutorials and fabulous ideas, I love the Masculine Monday such inspiration for the cards that are so difficult to make.

Razzleberry and Old Olive,,whisper white cardstock and the dsp are all  from Stampin;up along with the retired border punch and framelit  I used for the sentiment is also retired, The oval is a spellbinder die. The butterfly is also a die but of course I do not have the name of the company here, so stay tuned for an ATC using the same butterfly die.
Thanks for stopping by today I hope I have provided some inspiration to get your crafting supplies out and create.

Treasure Island………..the book.

If you are looking for my card for the Canada Day Blog hop please  Click here
Welcome to the first week of Clear it Out Tuesday’s challenge the theme is anything goes and the stash item is to use yellow on your project, yellow ribbon that you wondered why you bought it, some yellow buttons wow I have some of them, or a scrap of yellow cardstock as I have used. Sponsoring our challenge is Digi Darla, the image I chose was Tropical Scene, it reminded me of a book I read when I was a “young'un” called Treasure Island, I also saw the movie and was totally in love with Bobby Driscoll that played Jim Haskin, can you believe it was in 1950? Here is my offering for the challenge.
