Saturday Challenge #125 at the Drunken Stampers

Wow another week has flown by….why do they seem to go faster the older you get? The challenges at the Drunken Stampers are all about movies, some I have seen some I haven’t a clue about, this one was no exception so I googled it. The movie is UP, it is an animated film but I never saw it. I came up with an idea for the challenge and here is the finished project.
IMG_1652
Of course I used one of my favourite critters, a house mouse hanging on to a balloon. I paper pieced the balloon with some patterned paper from a DCWV stack pack. Mounted it on blue cardstock embossed with a cloud embossing folder. I stamped and cut out a second mouse and attached on top to give dimension  Live, Laugh and Love are metal ovals, I love that saying and the laugh was appropriate for a funny movie.
Supplies
Image….from House Mouse Designs
Cardstock, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue and GP white
Ribbon….retired 1 1/4 inch striped ribbon
Words….from my stash
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to check out the rules for the challenge at the Drunken Stampers challenge Blog. While you are there check out the great inspiration the design team has for you. I hope you will play along with us for the UP/Balloon challenge.

My image is from Sassy Studios, I live the images and they have some great ones.

While getting my card ready I mentioned to my grandson I was making a card about “Twilight” and he thought I meant one of the characters in My Pretty Pony and being a budding artist he drew me a few pictures for me to use. I couldn’t disappoint him so I scanned printed and coloured the image and made the card. Here is my Twilight Pony card.

“Springtime” at House mouse & Friends Challenge Blog

Finally it’s springtime in South Western Ontario, at least until the weekend when the temp. dips again. We have had a couple of fabulous spring days this week. The challenge at House Mouse & Friends is to make a project with something on it that make you think of spring. Lilacs are always a favourite of mine in the spring, the scent from them is so fresh and sweet and there is a bush in the neighbour’s yard, very close to the “line”. Here is my springtime card.

Supplies
Image……House Mouse “friend” a Gruffie
Cardstock…..Elegant Eggplant, GP White,
DSP….from Stampin’up

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to get out some crayons and colour, it is so therapeutic.
I am entering this in House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge. which ends Saturday 4/20/13

Welcome to another Saturday at the Drunken Stampers

Challenge time at the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog, this week it is the Midnight Margaritas and the Movie theme is Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow or Steampunk. Here I am again I haven’t seen this movie either and I haven’t done much in steampunk either. I have been at a loss with what to do for a while but since I had a deadline I had to get working. After 4 false starts (good job there are two sides to each piece) I stamped my image and was happy with it. As most of my crafty friends know I am not really big on distressing things, I even clench my teeth together while roughing up the edges. Now I have told you my story I will let you see my card. I am interested in what you think of it.
