It’s Tuesday…Challenge time at Shopping Our Stash!!

For my Clear it Out Tuesday blog post scroll down or click HERE.

It’s almost May and it’s a May Day challenge at Shopping Our Stash,
IMG_2108
Here is my project for the challenge, it is a 2013 day planner I repurposed for keeping track of my challenges. Lots of space on each page to jot down challenges I want to do and what dt projects that need to be done and checked off when they are finished. Here is the inspiration picture for you.
maypole6
May 1st is May Day I’m not sure if any schools do the May pole dance it was quite the co-ordination to get the over and under to make the pattern on the pole. The picture is just to inspire you for the challenge. You can go many ways with it, ribbons, something twisted, tall and skinny, rainbow colours you have lots of options.  As you can see I went with the ribbon theme and I used the 7 Chakra colours on the coils of the book, I love purple and had some scraps from other projects so did my new favourite thing and made a sunburst. I used a Bugaboo image it doesn’t pertain to May Day but it shows me it’s my crafting book. You can find Bugaboo images HERE
.
                   IMG_2109
I love the sentiment it came along with the image I used, hope it  keeps me on track.
I am entering this in:
Glitter N Sparkle Challenge blog challenge #82 use some ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by today to check out what I’ve been crafting. I hope you will join the May Day challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

The Colour Purple………no not the movie it’s a challenge

The sponsor for the challenge is Lacy Sunshine, so many new awesome digis there, you just have to go have a peek. Check out the Facebook page, you get to see the new ones as they are done lots of inspiration too, you will find it HERE.
I was hoping for warmer weather when I chose Eleanor Tubing as my digi for the Purples challenge, it sure would be nice to have some warm weather but this week it is going to be rain, rain and more rain
IMG_2094
Isn’t she just adorable in her purple swim suit and floating around on the inner tube? I used two shades of purple for my card, I embossed clouds on the light purple layer. Added some purple sheer ribbon.
IMG_2095
Here is a close up of Eleanor’s adorable face.
IMG_2096
Inside of the card semi finished, i used the same embossing folder  and I die cut the happy birthday added the flower (glued the sentiment too far over)  there are always ways to correct a tiny error now the big ones are a little more difficult lol.
I am entering this in:
Lacy Sunshine challenge Blog challenge #32 use your favourite colour combination. My favourite colour is Purple and I love doing monochromatic cards.
Thanks for looking today and dig into those purple things and play along with Clear it Out Tuesday for the challenge. Check out the rules and remember it ends next Monday night at 8 p.m. EDT. while there have a look at the great inspiration the rest of the team have made.

Time for a New Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad!!

Another Monday has rolled around again and there are only a few days left in April. The Cheerful Stamp Pad has a new challenge for you, we want you to get out the embossing powders and make a project. I don’t know if you have been neglecting doing heat embossing I know I haven’t done much in the last while I’m sure your heat gun will be happy for the work. Challenge #85 is sponsored by Stamp On It.
IMG_2115
This card was very easy to do, the stamp is from Stampendous and is called Wisemen. I used pewter embossing powder on violet stardream cardstock, layered on silver then on black for the base.
IMG_2116
Here is a different look at the card, it is very difficult to get a really good picture of it. I will be so glad when I can get outside to take the pictures.
IMG_2117
The inside just waiting for the sentiment.
I would like to enter this the following challenge:
Crafty hazelnuts Christmas Challenge Extra Anything goes
Thanks for joining me here today and I hope you will find time go get out those embossing powders and join the challenge.

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday blog post scroll down or click HERE.
At Shopping Our Stash we would like you to join us in celebrating Earth Day Today!! April 22, 2014. The challenge is to up-cycle or recycle your project. Check out what the other design team members have done, they are awesome. I really didn’t know what I wanted to do for my project a lot of ideas came to mind but I decided to recycle an invitation card I received a while ago.
IMG_2105
I trimmed the front and layered it on so saffron and teal, I removed the flower and popped it up and added the ribbon to the stem. I just couldn’t bear to not use the whole card, I thought it would make a cheery get well card or Birthday card so didn’t add a sentiment.
IMG_2106
Here is a closer look at the flower.
IMG_2107
More teal, so saffron and a white layer  for the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join us for Earth Day! Just click HERE to check out the rules for the challenge.

IMG_2097
My image is from Meljen’s designs, isn’t he the cutest little puppy in a pocket?  I picked out the stripped paper and then matched them with the so saffron and I think buckaroo blue (retired) buttons are from CTMH I bought 4 or 5 years ago. Happy Birthday is from Stamp’in up.
IMG_2098
Just a close up of his sweet little face.
IMG_2099
Totally finished inside….the sentiment is from Printworks.

It’s Monday and the Fun Continues At The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Mid challenge time at the Cheerful Stamp Pad, use three different patterned papers challenge #84. There isn’t a sponsor this challenge but you would be the next Guest Designer!!!. It’s like an Anything Goes challenge but you use 3 different patterned papers on your project. For my card I tried a new technique a sunrise card using three different patterned papers. It sure looks a lot harder than it really is but it’s messy.
IMG_2100
What a great way to use up 1 1 /2 X 4 inch scraps. I found the tutorial for the sunrise technique at Too Cool Stamping. I used mostly Stampin’up on this card the oval and label punch Warmest regards stamp set and a heart embossing strip. The ink is versafine moss green.
IMG_2101
The sentiment is from Printworks Collection.com I also used a couple of left over scraps. I didn’t need as many as I cut.
Thanks for looking today and I hope you find time to get your crafty on and join us at the Cheerful Stamp Pad for the Use 3 Patterned Papers Challenge.

It’s SATURDAY!!! and E is for Embellishment at SOSS

For me is really is Saturday, I totally forgot my blog post yesterday. `Note to self….do the blog post as soon as you finish the card.
Since it is the second Saturday of the month it`s time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers it is E for Embellishment. Now you can have as many as you want, all the same or all different but it has to be at least 2 now that is an easy challenge.
IMG_2090
I know it`s Easter, I haven`t lost my mind that far but I really wanted to use this adorable image from House Mouse Designs. I have been trying to make a couple of Christmas cards every month. The flourish stamp is from Hero Arts the poinsettia is a boss cutz die, I did cut an extra petal to make it look fuller.
IMG_2091
Close up of the cute little rodent. I coloured it up with my prisma colour pencils and oms, added some white opal liquid pearls on the had and snow.
IMG_2092
A closer look at the poinsettia, I used a brad in the center for one of my embellishments. I put 11 red rhinestones on the flourish to make and even dozen for the challenge.
IMG_2093
As you can see, I still haven`t ``dug`` out the sentiment stamps for the inside of my Christmas cards. One day I will have a marathon.
Challenges I am entering this in:

Gruffies and Guests Any thing goes with an optional twist (lace)

Happy Easter

Just thought I would take some time to wish all my friends, family and followers a very Happy Easter. Since we had a great grandson joined our family I am back making cute boy cards. It is so much fun having someone to make them for.
IMG_2084
It’s a spinner card, I would have loved to have made a short video but I’m not that techie. This is based on the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, I used the same little Mudpie holds jelly beans from House Mouse Designs. as I used on the treats I made yesterday but didn’t go look at the stamp and said it was Maxwell. I should get back to writing everything down that I used then I wouldn’t have to “guess” and be wrong. lol.
IMG_2085
The patterned paper is from the Green Stack from DCWV, the word window punch  and the modern label punch from Stampin’up. The image and scallop were cut with large circle spellbinders. The green dots are snaps I bought at Dollarama at least 8 years old and never used them. The cardstock is bashful blue, wild wasabi and GP white.
IMG_2086
The sentiment is computer generated from a verse site and I finished it off with the scrap of paper that was left over from the front.

Challenges I am entering this in:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Animal Antics
Tuesday Morning Sketches Sketch #245

Thanks for stopping by today and may the Easter bunny bring lots of goodies. (and NO snow)

Just a Little Easter Treat for my friends

Last night I decided I needed to make a few little treats to give to the girls at our breakfast meet-up, Once a  month some of the retirees from Wal-mart get together, we all say we don’t miss the work we just would miss the girls we worked with, so we have the best of both.  We have a little restaurant called the Pancake House the early bird breakfast special is bacon, sausage or ham, two eggs (how you want them) hash browns or grilled potatoes, toast and coffee for a fabulous price of $5.25, and it's all good.
IMG_2082
The image is one of my first House Mouse stamps I bought it is Maxwell with jellybeans. I packed 10 jelly beans into a little zip lock bag, coloured the images (don’t look close) cut them out with my spellbinders circles grabbed some scraps of coloured cardstock and cut the scallops, I stamped Happy Easter and cut out with my word window punch and attached it to the hole in the top of the bag with a scrap of ribbon.
IMG_2083
Don’t be looking too close to the colouring, Note to self: colour under the ott light. Isn’t he just the most adorable rodent?
Thanks for stopping by today and do something for yourself today that makes you happy!!!

Challenge #147 “Taxman” use Numbers!!

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or click HERE.

Guess we all know the number crunching for the taxman although Canada has a couple more weeks (which is good for me) Since I was asked to make a Sapphire Anniversary Card (45 years) I thought perfect for the challenge, there is no stamping and no colouring (gasp) unreal for me as I love to colour. I love the way it turned out and plan on making a “box envie” for it. This is what I made for Shopping Our Stash challenge this week.
IMG_2075
I used some recollections gemstone paper for the blue and shimmer white from Stampin’up both are a couple of years old, the flowers are also from my stash, I take them apart and put them back together, there are tiny pearls in the centers. Ribbon and flowers are from Len’s Mills store. I cut the 45 with my Cuttlebug alpha dies and attached them to thin strips of clear acrylic.
IMG_2076
Close up of the numbers done with stardream cardstock scraps.
IMG_2077
The sentiments are both computer generated.
Thanks for looking today and I hope you will dig into your stash and create a project for the Taxman/numbers challenge at Shopping our Stash.

IMG_2080
Isn’t she adorable in her daffodil bath, her name is Bubbles Bath and so much fun to work with. I went to Scrapfest on Saturday in Kitchener Ontario and bought some copics, the browns for the hair and the yellows for the flower and turquoise on the towel. since she has little wings I outlined them in a blue spica glitter pen and the bubbles with stickles. I used scraps of patterned paper for the banners.
IMG_2081
A long time ago I bought a wood rectangle with an oval opening, you use  it like a “b” plate in the cuttlebug and it leaves the center plain for the sentiment. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder that looks like bubbles.

Welcome to Pieces of April!!!

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or click HERE.

April showers make the snow go away so the May flowers can make their way out to greet the sun. I saw lots of snow drops on Sunday, tulips and daffodils were poking their leaves out of the ground, what a fabulous sight. Shopping Our Stash has a great challenge for this second week of April…pieces of April which means paper piecing. This is a fun challenge and you can use up some scraps and that is what the blog is all about. I love to shop in my stash I never know what I might uncover.
For my Pieces of April I used a House Mouse image from House Mouse Designs these little guys are my “go to” stamp for lots of occasions and it’s been a little while since I used one.
IMG_2070
I picked the image because it reminded me of the  March winds we had and how March went out like a lion, I paper pieced the balloon cut the image with my labels 8 spellbinders die and layered it on the pink that I cut with the Fancy Labels 8 die by Spellbinders. Doesn’t he look like he is having a fun time.
IMG_2071
Here is the inside of the  card waiting for the sentiment, it was done with some scraps I had in the scrap box.
Challenges I’m entering this in:
Gruffies and Guests Anything goes with the option of lace. I didn’t use lace but I did use a lacy die cut.
Thanks for stopping by today and come back again soon.

A Stitch in Time Saves Nine….or so the old saying goes

Hello my crafty and non-crafty friends, another week closer to summer and oh how I’m looking forward to warmer weather how about you? Clear it Out Tuesday has an awesome challenge for you this week, anything goes, we know how you love to enter ATG challenges of course there is a twist with this one, stitching either real or faux the choice is yours. Head over to the CIOT blog and check out the rules while you are there check out what the other design team members have created.
I dragged out my sewing machine, set it up on the kitchen table plugged it it and decided to take a test run, hmmm it wasn’t working, the thread was getting caught and my stitch wasn’t right so…………..I tried to pull the thread from the bobbin case and took one ring off, the other followed so decided to scrap machine sewing and will be taking the machine in to have it checked over. That left me with two options, faux stitching (I suck at that) or hand stitching.
IMG_2072
The sponsor for the challenge is Stamp Art by Katheryne and the image I chose was Alannah & Snowball. I’m trying to do at least one Christmas card a month so when November/December arrives I’m ahead of the game. I coloured the image with my spectrum noir markers, the patterned paper is a couple of years old and I stuck it to the pink cardstock then punched holes in it every 1/4 inch and hand stitched with green thread. The ribbon I used was already sewn.
IMG_2073
Here is a close up so you can see the stitching, I used stickles on the snowman’s had and opal liquid pearls for Alannah’s hat.
IMG_2074
Inside of the card, now you can see how cute the patterned paper is.
Challenges I’m entering this in:
Hazel Nuts Crafty Christmas challenge Extra Anything goes as long as it’s Christmas. The challenge is for the month of April.
Completely Christmas Challenge #6 Anything goes.

Happy Monday!!! Week 2 of Add Some Flowers at…..

The Cheerful Stamp Pad and the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. It’s the second week of April is your weather warming up? The snow is finally melting but so far there is no flooding. Ok enough about the weather and on to the challenge.
I picked a great image from Bugaboo Stamps if you get a chance go visit them and check out the great images.
IMG_2067, .
I picked an snow globe image, funny it’s called a “snow” globe and it’s a spring image, lol. I love blue butterflies so coloured them with my blue spectrum noir markers then coloured over them with a blue spica glitter pen. I tried to make a one layer card, it didn’t work, J just can’t seem to get  the CAS thing down. So after I embossed the front of the base with the tulip border folder I decided to trim it and layered it on another white base. I added a circle of clear acrylic to the globe and trimmed it, then cut the base out separately and popped it up. When I decide if it is a get well, or birthday card I will add the sentiment to the base of the snow globe.
IMG_2069
I was hoping you could see the shimmer of the butterflies but it doesn’t show up that well.
IMG_2068
The inside is done the same as the front (without the globe)
I am entering this in the April Anything goes challenge at Catch the Bug challenge Blog.
Thanks for stopping by today and peeking at what I have been crafting. I hope you will find some time to get creative and join us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the Add Flowers challenge.

Challenge #5~~~~Q is for Queen at the Sisterhood

Thanks for playing along with the Fancy Folds I hope you had fun!! The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers continues with the Alphabet theme…Q is for Queen and we want to see a crown on your project. Head over to the challenge blog and check out the rules and while you are there have a look at what my teamies have done for the challenge, they are all fabulous and some are snarky too. I pondered the challenge for a while and then I had a light bulb moment….who is the Queen of Snark it’s Stella from Bugaboo Stamps and here she is!
IMG_2064
While checking my bloglovin this morning Jessi posted her card for and I thought wow that sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches will be perfect for my Stella card if I flipped it vertical. I made her crown with some glitter cardstock and a star punch. I fussy cut Stella and flat attached her to the oval. I was really digging into my stash for this card, the paper is from the dollar store as were the gem stone brads. The vertical Happy Birthday is from The Artful Stamper based in London Ontario. The sentiment on the sign is computer generated.
IMG_2065
This gives you a better look at her crown and the sign.
IMG_2066
The semi finished inside of the card.
I am entering this in Sketch #243 at Tuesday Morning Sketches
Thanks for having a look today and I hope you can find some time to join in the fun at The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers for the Q is for Queen challenge.

Challenge #145 at Shopping Our Stash~~~a Technique

If you are looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post just scroll down or click HERE.

Not just any technique but a FAUX technique. There are a lot of great faux techniques check out Splitcoast stampers or just google like I did. Check out all the rules at Shopping Our Stash Blog and while you are there check out the faux techniques that my teamies have done.
I had so many ideas on what to do, I decided to do a faux technique that I had never done before, I found a video at Stamps to Die for of Faux Silk, it look fairly simple (at least I thought it did) The big thing I can suggest is “lots of glue stick”.
IMG_2041
First one I did was with dye ink and when I put the glue stick on the image it bled…scrap one, second one I was more careful with the glue stick but missed a couple of spots and the tissue didn’t stick.  I then found the daffodil image in my scrap box, I was not happy with my choice for a birthday card so chose something else. I thought perfect for this technique. I made a frame for the image, added some ribbon and a couple of shimmery butterflies
IMG_2042
Close up picture of the faux silk technique.
IMG_2043
Inside of the card, I have no idea why it looks blue in the picture it is So saffron (yellow)

Thanks for stopping by today and I would like you to join in the fun and do a faux technique.and post it on the SOS challenge blog. I did work on a second technique as I had the perfect stamp for it, but unfortunately it just didn't work out as I had hoped.

April 1st, New Month New Challenge At CIOT!!!

A new weekly challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday, we want you to make a project for a boy or man and the stash item is STICKERS. Head over to the blog and get all the information and remember the challenge will close at 8 p.m. on April 7th. The Sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps, love their images and for this challenge I chose a cowboy leaning on a fence. Have a look.
IMG_2044
I coloured the image with spectrum noir and copics, the Happy Birthday is a die, sorry not sure of the company. I used a woodgrain embossing folder from Tim Holtz. the “horse shoes” are part of a die cut I had on my desk. I am not a scrap booker and don’t have a lot of stickers especially for guys so this was quite the search. I found Alphabet sticker booklets, they are so old I had to glue the stickers on. but thing they look kind of cute.
IMG_2045
Here is the finished inside of the card. I think I might cut another set of “horse shoes” to put on the inside.
Thanks for looking today and come and join us at Clear it Out Tuesday for the Boy/Men’s challenge, but don[‘t forget to use some stickers..
