A Tribute to Leslie.............

This is a very, very difficult blog post today, it's been a tough few days since we found out that Leslie, the creator of Shopping Our Stash passed on Christmas Day. Although I have only known her on-line since she accepted my resume in December 2013, I feel like I have known her forever.  The challenges she came up with were fabulous and sometimes took me way out of my comfort zone. Leslie was a fabulous cardmaker, queen of CAS cards, I was in awe of them as I'm not particularly good at them. Please read some of the rest of the design team favourite cards as they will give you more insight into Leslie. The card I selected for my favourite is one she made for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper challenge blog (she played often) in August for the Image only challenge. You can see the blog post HERE

Leslie will be missed by so many friends whether they are on line or in real life.

Thanks for stopping by today and take a few moments to check out the other favourite cards from the Shopping Our Stash Challenge Blog.

Shopping Our Stash #232 My Precious Week 2

It's a two week challenge and I made a second card for the challenge. I really need to work on some "Winter" cards as I want to send a few to our DT members, if that doesn't work I'll just send Valentines.  Since we are still working with something you have in your stash that you keep looking at and it's too pretty to use.  Last week it was a flourish and it wasn't as hard to use as I thought, well this week I used a glitter frame, I bought them at Home Sense so long ago I can't remember  when, I would look at them and put them back in the drawer but today there is one less to put back.

This is my new favourite snowman and he is coloured with spica glitter pens and fussy cut, then layered it on a scrap of fancy paper, added a couple of snowflakes then the frame.

Close up of the image.

Finished inside

Here are some of the glitter frames I have been hoarding.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you will join Shopping Our Stash in the new year for more fun challenges.

It's Boxing Day and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (for those who celebrate)  All the hub-bub is done, everyone is sitting around today moaning on how much they ate for dinner last night, or if you are my Hubby, he is munching on the chocolate he found in his stocking. The Sisterhood is having a nice break for the holidays and will be back with a NEW challenge on January 9, 2016.  Here is my second card for the challenge.

Monica is hanging around in the Holly

The stamp is Chin Up with Monica from House Mouse Designs

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #232 ~~ My Precious ~~ Two Week Challenge

Looking for my Clear it Our Stash post scroll down or click HERE.

Wow three more days of shopping time left, I hope you are ready!!! I think I am!!! A few odds and ends to pick up on "senior's day" at the Bulk Barn. The challenge at Shopping Our Stash  is My Precious, you know that one item you keep picking up and putting away because you love it and don't want to part with it.  Well mine was a green rhinestone flourish I bought at Michaels Art store three, four maybe more years ago from the $1.50 bin and I pick it up and put it back, well I bit the bullet and used it for this challenge.

I saw a sketch I liked and thought hmm might be a good one for this challenge, unfortunately what I didn't read was it was the winner's for the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch. The image was already coloured and cut, the only non scrap was the patterned paper.

I did cut the flourish in three pieces with a few rhinestones left over.

Of course I used a House Mouse image and the second bit of the flourish.

Finished Inside and the third bit of the flourish.

I couldn't decide on a favourite card so I picked a favourite sponsor....Lacy Sunshine and I had a super cute image already printed which gave me some extra time to shop.  Clear it Out Tuesday is having a end of the year "BASH" three sponsors so don't forget to go check them out. Lacy Sunshine, Bugaboo Designs and Digital Paper Craft. The challenge will last three weeks so we can all spend time with our families over the holidays.

I don't know about you I'm really saturated with Christmas even though I need to make a couple more for gifts I have. Next year I hope to be much better organized and not making Christmas the week of the holiday. It was so nice to dig out my pinks and make a Valentine card,

Not sure on how long this image has been in my "image" pile but isn't she adorable.

Not sure of the sentiment I will use on the inside it just might be a Happy Valentine one.

Let it Snow ~~ Challenge #231 at Shopping Our Stash.

Shopping our Stash is having a "let it snow" challenge which means use anything pertaining to snow, snowflakes, snowmen snow woman, winter scenes with snow. Here where I am in Canada we don't have any snow yet, this is unreal the temperatures are between 10 and 14 celcius but very damp. I finally have my tree up and it's ready for the decorations and I'm not sure when that will happen. Well on with my "snow card"

I have had this retired set from Stampin'up for maybe a couple of years, it has never seen ink until now, there is this tall skinny snowman and a short chubby one, Well the tall skinny one was perfect for this center step card. almost everything on this card is a scrap from  the scrap box.

used my spica glitter pens to colour the image

This is the finished inside or should I say back of the center step card.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the SOS blog check out the rules and see the great cards the rest of the design team have made.

Christmas and the Crooked Stamper Sketch #11

I found a piece of patterned paper that just begged to be used and I remembered the current sketch at The Crooked Stamper and it was perfect to showcase the lovely paper.  Since this is a very quick post I will get on with the picture.

This is a very easy, quick card. I stamped the sentiment in red versafine and clear embossed then layered it on a scrap of scalloped gold foil paper, then added 4 rhinestones.

I quickly put them all together and this is what I cam up with.

The stamp  is one of four from Sunshine designs, the Merry Christmas EH! is from High Hopes

It's Your Favourite challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday ~~ Anything Goes

Oh dear, I am sooooooo late with my post today for Clear it Out Tuesday, I have no idea where my brain was last night when I forgot to type up my post, 'note to self ~ do the blog when I finish the card"

Clear it Out Tuesday has an easy challenge for you this fortnight Theme  Anything goes and the Stash item is Anything goes so you can Clear Out some serious stash. Two sponsors for this challenge DeeDee`s digis and Dr. Digi.

My adorable image is from DeeDee`s Digis, as you know I love cats but only have one she is 18 and has been an only `child` too long to introduce a rival. Now I am not fond of greens but this little feline wanted to be layered on it. Now the two (all I could find) metal dots are my stash item. The little tree is coloured with a spica glitter pen and covered with crystal effects.

Close up of the ornament

Finished the inside with a scrap of patterned paper with my paw print border punch.

New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ #230 UFOs use an unfinished object

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving last week and some of the design team had a relaxing time. So not sure but we are having some great challenges at Shopping Our Stash, I loved the No Stamping challenge and now we get to use a UFO ~~ un-finished object. Well going back a few weeks I made a card and just before I put the image on it a light bulb went on, my card was to be WHITE, so quickly made the "white" card so there was a full base, patterned paper and a sketch from The Crooked Stamper so I put it in the "UFO" box. The sketch challenge #10 is now over but I liked the sketch and it worked perfect for the sentiment I used for the focal point.  So before you go digging for your UFOs, head to the challenge blog check out rules and see what UFOs the rest of the design team have made.

I love the sentiment it's perfect for the front or the inside of a card.

Close up of the sentimen

Since I put the sentiment on the front I thought this was perfect for the inside.

Thanks for checking my blog today and have a fabulous crafty week.

Week 2 of No Stamping at Shopping Our Stash

Oh my gosh it is December 1st, wow where did November go, 24 more days to the big day!!!

I hope all my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Shopping Our Stash  let the U.S. half of the Design team have a week off to enjoy the holiday without stress of crafting. Since our Thanksgiving in Canada has been celebrated over a month ago I offered to make a card for the challenge. I'm getting the hang of just using die cuts for a card although the little fir tree was MIA for a day or two, I found it attached to the magnetic plate under the cutting plate on my big shot and the Merry Christmas was there too.  So here is what I made for Challenge #229 No Stamping.

The deer, fir trees and sentiment are from Impression Obsession

Here is the card closed.
