I can see Clearly ~~ Card #2

I had planned this card last week but life happened and it didn't get done, remember Monday's blog about working on "this" card and giving up on it for that day, well it's done without any errors.

Anyone that has made an acetate cards knows how hard it is to get a good picture so you will have to trust me it's really acetate. Shall we go back to Monday when I started this card all went well with the colouring and layering, then (I since found out not to score it so well) I tried to put the image on the inside of the acetate, well we all know how well soowang tape grabs in the wrong place so peeled it off and because I scored so well it then stuck to the front. Second half of the acetate sheet, scored lightly, taped the image again, set it perfectly in place ....going well isn't it. Creased the score line and was so happy. Decided to apply some gold sticker trim to the front, got the bottom strip in place, snipped it off and cut the acetate, dang. Since I only had one piece of acetate I peeled the image off AGAIN and taped the back AGAIN and brought it home. So happy how it turned out though.

Second picture of the card so it shows the acetate better. I don't know the maker of the stamp as a friend sent me the image a couple of years ago.

What's in Your Garden?

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge #258 How does your Garden Grow? we would like to see anything that you think is in a garden. My plan was a super cute garden scene but I seemed to have forgotten to bring it to the cottage this weekend, all was not lost I had a new to me PSX flower stamp here, it is an older stamp as PSX is no longer a company. I love PSX stamps and have a lot of them too.

Pansies are one of my favourite flowers and I have a collection of stamps too. I saw Saturday Sketch challenge and thought I can make my card work with it.

Close up of the flowers.

Blank inside as I really need to have generic cards in my stash. I had two friends that had surgery and I had nothing suitable in my card pile and no time to make any.

Finally!!! a Card for the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ I can see Clearly Now.

Well I didn't have any time last week to make any cards for the challenge and most of the weekend I was busy here at the cottage so here I am Monday morning wanting to make not one but two cards for the Jingle Belles rock. My first card became a total disaster ~~ more on that one when I finish it and blog it on Wednesday, so frustrated with that one I started the second idea I had, I chose my colours and patterned paper cut them to size so far so good and then it all went to Hell in a handbasket. Maybe I'll show you the card first and you can follow along a bit better.

As you see I chose a light blue base, first cut the circle in it then did a "palm to forehead" I didn't want a hole in it I wanted it in the patterned layer, ok into the off cut basket it went. All went well with the cutting and layering of the top layer, then I decided to put the snowman on the base, glued it down on the back, so it was on the bottom when I opened the card, ok glue hadn't set yet so peeled it off and glued it properly. I was pleased then I added shaker card pouch and the layers as everything went well. There was a minor problem when the M in Merry didn't cut and I had to do it over. I was glad I didn't plan on any fancy stuff to do on this card as I wanted the snowman to shine.

Close up of the Sunshine Stamps snowman, he is one of 4 and I use them alot.

Simply finished inside, I wanted no more errors.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #62 O is for Outerspace~~~

WooHoo it's Saturday!!! Time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ O is for Outerspace.  This theme isn't one of my strongest and boy I thought, and thought and thought and couldn't think of what to do, then I remembered I had saved an image on pinterest and I had a star stencil I had never used. Well my first attempt was a disaster, I thought I could emboss the stars with some glow in the dark embossing powder, well the stars were not pretty and I'm still not sure if it glows in the dark, so with my last 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of night of navy I used texture paste on the stencil and before it dried I added some glitter. Since it's my first using of texture paste please don't look too close at my card. lol.

I coloured Yoda and fussy cut him out, he is standing on the earth, I also printed a Yoda quote to use.

Close up of Yoda, the laser is covered with crystal effects.

Shopping Our Stash #257 ~~ Always a Bridesmaid

Another fabulous challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Always a Bridesmaid!! Challenge is to use a dress or a dress form.  Well I used some serious stash this week ~~ brads that are at least 7 years old and never opened and the stamp set is retired from Stampin'up from 2005 and I'm sure it was bought second hand.

When I started out I knew the stamp I wanted to use but had no idea of how to design a card until I saw the colour challenge at Just Us girls and voila three dresses done in the three colours mustard, turquoise and hot pink. The dresses were fussy cut and attached to the hangers.  The cute hangers are brads from the eyelet outlet I bought when Stamping Bella was still a storefront in Toronto.

Close up of the hangers, two dresses are flat attached and the pink one is elevated.

Finished inside using the scraps of patterned paper.

Shopping Our Stash #256 ~~ Let Me Take a Selfie ~~ Make a Polaroid Scene

You can thank Chris our hostess with the mostest cute ideas for challenges, who else would have thought about a polaroid scene? So the challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Let me take a selfie and we want to see your polaroid scenes. I will admit I have never made one before so I really didn't know much about them only I thought they were interesting and really cute, I know I will make more too. I really dug deep into my stash for this one too.

I love this sailboat stamp, it is a 1999 PSX stamp and I looked for it for a while before I found one too, I made my own polariod frame with a large rectangle die and a small square one. The clips have been in my stash for hmmm a long long time, even the patterned paper is over a year old.

So sad PSX is not longer in business but I sure have a lot of their stamps.

I used the scrap of patterned paper on the inside and the sentiment is a 1999 PSX stamp

Thanks for stopping by today and please join in the fun at Shopping Our Stasdon't forget to check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge.

"V" is for Vroom ~~ Challenge #61 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Hello Saturday and welcome to a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ V is for Vroom!!! I guess if it has wheels it can go vroom, vroom, I have a few vehicle stamps but decided to use a long retired stamp from Stampin'up but make it in a non-masculine colour, no it's not Pink. teehee. As everyone knows I'm doing most of my crafting at the cottage which presents problems of not having quite the "right stuff" this one I adapted to quite well but the sentiment had to wait until we were home as there is no printer here. I say I'm going to make kits of the cards I plan on working on but it never happens, sure sounds good on paper doesn't it.

So here is the motorcycle card I made using Turquoise, the feather patterned paper gives it sort of masculine theme and I asked hubby if he thought it looked feminine and he said no. What are your thoughts?

Of course I had finished the front of the card and realized I forgot to use the super cute motorcycle brads on it, so added it to the inside. The brads are from the Eyelet Outlet and I purchase them at a little craft store in Delhi, Ontario.

Close up of the motorcycle brad.

Frosty the Snowman part #2

Wow another Blue snowman card, I promise if I make another it won't be Blue, I just happen to think snow cards should be blue. I'm not sure when I coloured this image as I just found it in an office folder I bring cardstock to the lake in.  I checked the Sketch Saturday blog and the sketch worked perfect for my image. Since I only brought Red/Green Christmas paper pads with me I was at a loss what to use until voila on piece of blue patterned paper surfaced in the file folder of cardstock. Now my stamp is the first snowman stamp I bought and it's from Hero Arts.  Here is my "Frosty".

What a job taking a picture, first it was too dark on the deck so I took it to the breakwall and it is windy out there, I'm lucky to have gotten a picture (please ignore the "hand" shadow, I wasn't going to try again) the Washi tape I bought at the $$ store as well as those little candy dots, there are 9 different colours in the package for $1.25.

Inside finished with the sketch too.

I would like to enter this in these challenges.

Merry Monday #208 Cards for Kids

Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful week.

Shopping Our Stash #255 ~~~ Tea for Two (use a coffee or tea theme)

I was excited to see this challenge as I won a gift certificate from Tuesday Morning Sketches last year and it was to Verve Stamps, it's a good job I had lots of time to pick as it took me several months to decide on a Coffee set of clear stamp, the co-ordinating dies and a word (coffee) die.  And here is what I made with it.

I'm still not with it when it comes to pack supplies for the cottage, usually I bring my two containers of versa mark mini ink pads to keep here for the summer, then I have all colours here, but no I only have black, red and purple...make a note to self to pack them. Although I have 6 paper pads with me I had to use a Christmas pack again for my patterned paper but I'm happy it works.

Since I didn't have a brown inkpad with me the coffee beans are dark roast, I love the Coffee die too.

I just added a simple sentiment and used the three Coffee words from the set.

Thanks for joining me here today and head over to Shopping Our Stash for rules and check out the other coffee/tea project the design team have make for your inspiration. We have 4 new DT members this week so show them some love on their blogs.

Who is peeking out of the Window?

The Jingle Belles Rock posted a new challenge on Friday so I pack my equipment (or some of the right equipment) for their challenge.  I've had this stamp and idea since last November at a class at the Butterfly Moon but the poor fella has never seen ink until today. It was trial and error to get it done as I only had one piece of patterned paper and I used it on the wrong section of the card but that's what creating is all about ~~ see how well you can adapt when you mess up!!  Oh yes BTW it's another Blue card.

As you can see the challenge is to use a snowman/woman or even snowflakes as that is what they were before they were made. The card is 5 1/4 square, the ef is softly falling from SU. the stamp set is from Impression Obsession and is a set of three.

this is the same card but it's open and the snowman is no longer holding on to the window.
The snowman brad is from the Eyelet Outlet (I find mine at the craft store in Delhi)

This is the inside, of course he is popped up and I used the off cut from the frame.

I would love to enter this in the following Christmas challenges:

Christmas is in the Bag!!!

I know, I know so many Christmas posts but there are so many challenges out there to get a jump start on the holiday season, and I've had extra time this week and a good bunch of mojo. I really like Merry Monday challenges and this past Monday really intrigued me and I had the perfect stamp for it. I hope you don't get tired of seeing my House Mouse creations because I love making them.  Right the challenge is to make a holiday card with a bag or sack on it. Oh and Crafty Hazel nut's Christmas challenge is to put a sentiment on your card. I thought of entering something old nothing new challenge at House Mouse and friends but had to go with the Anything goes section as the die I used is less than a year old, the stamp is 2009 and the rest is at least 1 year old.

This took me longer to decide what paper to use than it did to put it together.

The fur on "santa's" hat and coat is liquid pearl and the snow is done with stickles.

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and a scrap of patterned paper.

Thanks for visiting today and there are still more days this week to craft and more challenges to enter, so stay tuned there is always more to come.

Merry Kissmas!!

Hello again family, friends and followers, I'm on fire with my Christmas stash and saw this super cute challenge at ABC Christmas challenge ~~ K is for Kiss. Well I found this super cute image in my image stash (score) and it's perfect for Tuesday Morning sketches #354 so a marriage happened and along with those two challenges I still have 5 hours to join the Jingle Belles Rock Banishing the blues challenge. WOW a three-fer.

Isn't this the sweetest little image and an awesome sketch, as you all know I craft in two places and every time I come home I bring back my basics, this week I didn't bring my favourite cutter thinking I wouldn't have time to craft, I love my guillotine cutter but it's big to truck back and forth.

Finished the inside with a sentiment and a scrap of the patterned paper.
