Jingle Belles Rock Christmas Bells!!!

The challenge at Jingle Belles Rock is Christmas Bells and I have a few stamps that have bells on them but I decided to use Fluffles hanging in the garland and put bells on it.

I used the Sketch Saturday sketch for my starting point, The jingle bells I've had since last Christmas and finally opened them, I even sewed them on to the cardstock.

Shopping Our Stash #271 ~~ Apple for Teacher

It's fall and there is a bounty of vegetables and fruit out at the vegetable stands along the roads so this is the perfect time for the challenge at Shopping Our Stash, Apple for Teacher ~~ use fruits/veggies on your project or make a Teacher appreciation card. I knew I had the perfect image to use for the challenge and yes, it's a Happy Hopper. Let's have a peek at it.......

Perfect image for the challenge and I have had it a while along with the patterned paper. I used Elizabeth Crafts Fitted Frames ~ Curly Ovals

Since the oval die cuts 4 different shapes and sizes I used one on the inside along with a favourite sentiment.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #270 ~~ Fairies and Angels

What a beautiful challenge at Shopping Our Stash!!  Fairies and Angels. There are a lot of different and beautiful stamps and digis of angels and fairies, I decided to give some inky love to a very old stamp from the Artful Stamper.

..

Isn't she beauiful! I coloured her with a very pale blue and her wings with touches of pink.

I used White Opal liquid pearls with water to glaze her wings.

Finished inside.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to Shopping Our Stash  check out all the gorgeous fairies and angels that the rest of the design team have done for inspiration.

Christmas Wishes to Warm Your Heart and Home........

Home/House is the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock ~~ there needs to be a house on your Christmas project. I had quite the time deciding what I would use, in fact I brought several "house" stamps with me this weekend. so look for at least one more before the challenge is over on Wednesday. Here is what I ended up using.

I used the large background house stamp from Hero Arts Stamped it in tuxedo black memento ink layered it on red and on a black base, I added a bit of colour to the houses,. The car with the tree is also from Hero Arts, I coloured, fussy cut and added clear acetate to the windows.

Close up but you really can't see the acetate.

The sentiment on the front and the inside sentiment are from Stampabilities

I am entering this in:

A is for Aaargh ~~ Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19th.

Another awesome challenge from the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ A is for Aaargh!!! Who knew that September 19th was talk like a pirate day? I didn't until the challenge was posted.  I have a pirate lady from Lacy Sunshine that was a freebie quite a while ago and I had it printed in my pile of images so went to work finding out how Elizabeth Swann looked in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I think it was the 2006 one. Well it wasn't colourful enough so I went with a dash of purple.

Aargh and larger coins are from a Stampendous changito set I've had for years never used,  Map is from one of the $$ masculine paper pads, lace from a different $$ store.

Close up of the image and sentimen. which was cut with a SU word bubble die.

Not knowing what I was using this for I've left the inside blank.

Thanks for spending time here today and head over to the Snarky sister's and check out how the rest of the design team have interpreted the challenge.

Cut and Paste is Challenge #269 at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Thanks to Chana I'm heading way, way out of my comfort zone, it's not that I don't have the equipment but no stamping and colouring is foreign to me. Shopping Our Stash  #269 is Cut and Paste......use stencils and dies only....NO STAMPING.  Here is my offering for the challenge.

So many firsts on this card....first time to use the Hero Arts Large Lotus Pattern stencil and technique, first time using the Impression Obsession Die they have both been in my possession for at least a year. First I spritzed the white cardstock with Dylusions purple ink spray when dry I sponged Spun Sugar distress ink over the flowers.

I cut the purple vellum that I found at a yard sale 4 years ago, then I cut the inserts for the flower and leaves from scraps of shimmer paper. Wow I paper pieced it!!! Cut and paste is what we want.

The Hello was cut with a Cuttlebug die plate (it's ancient) and seeing how Chris has layered a word sentiment on top of a black one to give dimension  I just needed to try it. Wow another first.

Inside of the card using a scrap of purple cardstock from my stash...a sentiment will be added later.

I am entering this in:
Hiding in my Craft Room #266 Super Scraps Saturday.(everything except the base was a scrap)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join Shopping Our Stash for "Cut and Paste" Don't forget to check out the blog and see what my teamies have done for the challenge.

What's White all over with a Touch of Red and shakes? A Challenge or two!!!

I love making shaker cards and today's card is brought to you by a pair of great challenge prompts. Just Us Girls ~~ Sequins (I rarely use them) and 52 Week Christmas card Throwdown ~~ White with a sprinkling of Red. I've been hoarding sequins for a couple of years I'm never sure how to use them or how many to put on a card, I'm in awe of people that use them for me it seems the only use is a shaker card. I'm behind on my Holiday cards so I need to get busy an make at least two a week or I won't have enough for mailing. Here is my holiday shaker.

I used Vertical Birch Trees Card Panel from Frantic Stamper Inc. I bought it this year at Scrapfest Kitchener. The cardinals are from another birch tree die that has two cardinal dies from Impression Obssession I love both dies but the card panel is perfect for a shaker but very tedious cutting the narrow foam tape in half as the edges are very narrow. White and a few red sequins used to fill the shaker.

Close up of the sequins.

The base and the backing for the shaker is shimmer cardstock, for the birch trees I used a natural white cardstock The sentiment is from Impression Obsession Inc.

Frosty the Snowman.........

I'm not sure why I was working on holiday cards today as it's not helping me to feel cool,  It's been cooler sleeping but the fans are just moving the hot air around. We will be heading home soon and I will enjoy the A/C.  I try to make two cards for the Jingle Belles challenge and I like to play along with ABC Christmas challenges but today I have doubled up and I'm entering it in both.

The stamp I used is one of my first snowmen stamps from 2004 called Sketch Snowman, I used an Elizabeth Crafts stitched oval to cut the image out, the music sheet is a scrap left over from another project and the notes are a Die-Namics die.

Since the challenge at ABC is R for rip it up this shows my "ripping"

Finished inside

Challenges I'm entering:
Jingle Belles Rock Hark the Herald Angels sing....music theme

ABC Christmas Challenge R is for Rip it Up.

Thanks for visiting today and have a fun week.

Mary Had A Little Lamb or Other Farm Animals

Challenge # 268 at Shopping Our Stash is Mary had a Little Lamb ~~ use farm animals, and this really great challenge comes to you from the one and only Chris.....who thinks up the wildest challenges.  I have very few (3) farm stamps, two which would have taken me  some time to find so I went with the only other "farm" stamp from Stampendous stamps called Filly Sketch. I even had a perfect new to me technique I was going to try until I figured out I had no clear embossing powder with me.  Here is my farm animal card......

I wanted to make it a bit more feminine than the last time I used this stamp and went with the blue layer, buttons and butterflies on the script pattered paper.  I popped the image up on some dots from the $$ store and they really elevated the image but are very spongy so should flatten out for mailing.

Close up of the filly

Since this could be used as a thinking of you, get well or birthday card I have the inside finished with the exception of the sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the SOS blog and check out the farm animal projects that the design team have made.

Uptown Girl meets the Mojo Sketch!!!

A quick post today as Hubby is waiting for me to get ready to go to dinner but I really wanted to get this done, the image has been ready for almost a week and I only have a few hours to get this posted. I loved the sketch and it was perfect for my Uptown Girl, and if I had finished sooner it was a NBUS as my stamp had never seen ink it hadn't even been opened. Here is my take on the sketch.

Tall and Skinny and lots of Pink.

It`s Saturday and a NEW Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Challenge #67 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is C is for Caffeine!! Most of us need a good shot of caffeine to get us going in the a.m., I need two. I can't believe we are in September already, where oh where is the summer go? Today is hubby's and my 56th anniversary wow, where has that time gone? We will be going to one of our favourite  places to have dinner. Well on now to the challenge. I have used one of my favourite stamps, House Mouse and of course there is no snark on it.

I made a shaker card!! This was my first attempt at making a large shaker and very happy how it turned out, I put brown sequins in the shaker part and put mouse tracks around the frame.

 Close up of the sequins.

The perfect sentiment for the image.
