The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #71 ~~ W is for Watercolour

Winter seems to be rearing it's ugly head, time to hunker down and stay warm ~~ and craft woohoo, I can get to do all those techniques I have saved for later.  Watercolour isn't one of my go to techniques, I would like to learn more which is why I did some searching for something different. I found it at Jennifer McGuire Ink and decided to try it for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge, W is for Watercolour.

If I was looking to use NBUS items (never been used stuff) this challenge, The snowflake is from Stampin'up and never been inked so I used versamark and  white embossing powder on watercolour paper. The technique uses perfect pearls in water spritz but I'm not sure where mine are so I unsealed some liquid shimmer paint I just had to have in three colours, none have ever been opened. I put three shades of blue distress ink on my craft mat, spritzed it with the shimmer instead of water then took my fingers and painted. The sentiment is from a package of foil embossed stickers from Dollar Tree. Here is my finished fingers.....

It will eventually wear off as it won't wash off but oh so much fun to finger paint.

Finished inside and layered the sentiment on recollections dark blue shimmer paper and then on white which were cut with Elizabeth Craft Design stitched rectangles.

Thanks for visiting today head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the team have made and while there take a peek at the rules before you enter the challenge.

Butterflies in Orchid....

Three more days left of the Hop to Stop Domestic violence at Becca's Blog, Damsel of Distress.  I was at a Stampin'up night and I took the opportunity to use the new floral die to cut a piece of white cardstock, didn't have a plan for it but as it was sitting on my desk  I decided it would look fabulous over purple and a new card design was born for the Hop to Stop. I layered the die cut over some sparkly orchid cardstock.

The butterflies are from Impression Obsession, the sentiment is from Stampin'up along with the oval punches, I added a few pearls to each of the butterflies and a few dotted around the background.

Close up of the sparkle.

Finished inside.

Shopping Our stash #275 Three Trees ~~ use Three or more Trees

Happy Tuesday, we closed the cottage this weekend so no more shuttling craft supplies from one place to another ~~ now to get them all back in their places so I can find them. Of course I also have to find homes for all the supplies I brought home, for a while we will have doubles of all condiments in the refrigerator.  On to the challenge at Shopping Our Stash, we want to to use at least THREE trees on your project, you can make a whole forest if you would like to and I think I did.

Birch tree die from the Frantic stamper, Deer, evergreens and Merry Christmas is from Impression Obsession. The background is on of my last pieces of swirly shiny paper bought eons ago.

the deer are woven into the birch trees and the whole frame is popped up.

Finished the inside with a Stampabilities sentiment and one more tree.

Thanks for spending some time here today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the design team have done.

Hello

I started this card several weeks ago for a friend's birthday but it wasn't going well at all and I was in a time crunch so went with plan 2 and since my flowers were purple I made it a quest to finish it for the Hop To Stop (domestic violence) at Damsel of Distress Blog.

The basket is a wood mount stamp it includes the handles, I can't remember who it belongs to as it is still at the cottage with a few odd bits of supplies. The pansies are from a PSX stamp which I dismantles a bit to fit the project. Hello is a Cuttle bug die (ages old)

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession

I'm entering this in the Hop to Stop

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Damsel of Distress blog and check out all the fabulous cards. There are prizes when you enter and you still have until October 30th to enter.

Floating Flowers

I love this design for a card, I used it with a bi-plane card I made a while back, Floating flowers is what France Martin calls this fold and I followed her video to make it so it's a total "case".  A couple of weeks ago I made a different card made with the same flowers and colours,  I am not a big fan of fall colours except looking at the trees when they change, but I try to use them every once in a while, and there has been a lot  of Pink going around.

Boy this was a nightmare to photograph, here is is closed.

Sort of a side view

A wider side view.

I was inspired to make this card by the Colour Challenge at Just us Girls and I would like to enter this in their challenge. ~~ Color Week #365 Gold, Rust and Olive.

Thanks for stopping by today, as you see I am not always making Christmas Cards.

My Last Pink Christmas Card for the Jingle Belles Rock ~~ for this year.

I have been so excited to have had time to create 6 cards for the (GAH) Pink Christmas Challenge at the Jingle Belles. It's been a lot of fun picking images that will look great in pink. For this card I used a Saturated Canary image I have had printed probably since last year, quite often I print two just in case I mess the first one up. I also have a stash different coloured  Fitted Frames 4 from Elizabeth Craft Designs,

I used ECDesigns stitched oval and two of the fitted frames ovals then placed it on a white layer that was embossed with a folder from Stampin'up that the name of eludes me. then I attached it to a premade base 4 1/4 X 6 inches from a pack I purchased at the dollar store. The sentiment is from High Hopes Stamps which is a Canadian company here in Ontario.

A truly Canadian sentiment isn't it, although I'm not the one in my family that uses that word, my hubby is truly a Canadian and admits to using Eh? many times in a conversation.

The inside is finished with another of the fitted ovals and a sentiment from Stampendous (I think)

Challenge #274 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~~ Hey Ghoulfriend

What a great title for a challenge ~~ thank you, Chris!!! The crew at  Shopping Our Stash  would like to you make a Halloween card or project.

Halloween is not as huge a celebration as it is in the U.S. so I don't make a lot of Halloween cards, but if there are challenges to be done then send them off to who ever I think would like a surprise. I had a lot of fun making this card and "shhh it's for my great-grandson". I bought a Pop up Die I think about 1 1/2 years or longer and had never taken it out of the package, it looked like a lot of work but surprise, surprise it wasn't as hard as it looked.

I had printed this super cute image from Bugaboo Stamps quite a while ago and had it all layered on gold and black ready to go. I added some colour to the windows, lights and eyes then using some chalks I did the background in pink and yellow for an eerie sky.  I punched the fence and popped it up and added the black cat that I found in that "parts box" The background paper is from Bo Bunny also a couple of years old.

Tada!! the pop up part of the card, The sentiments are computer generated and the bats are from an EK bat punch I found at Dollarama and I attached them with thin strips of acetate. The paper is from a 12 X 12 pad I bought 2 maybe 3 years ago at Winners.

Close up of the pop up part of the card and of course the super cute bats.

Pink, Warm, Winter, Wishes ~~ and it {{{shakes}}}

I'm getting my money's worth out of some very old patterned paper, I'm gonna be sad when it's all gone. It works so well with the Annual Pink Christmas challenge at the Jingle Belles. I think this is #5 for the challenge. I hope you have at least made one for the the challenge, it is for a good cause, Breast Cancer Research. Both Stephanie and Lauren are donating $2.00 each for every card posted on the blog.

It's an image I found on Pinterst (I love snowmen/women) I decided I wanted to make a shaker card, I cut the frame with EC Designs stitched rectangles. added some pretty sequins instead of beads (as I seemed to leave them at home) the Sentiment is from Impression Obsession

Closer looke at the sequins.

The sentiment is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

What is Sparkly and Pink ~~ Another Pink Christmas card for the Jingle Belles Rock!!

I'm enjoying making (GAH) Pink  Christmas Cards!! This is #4 woo hoo!! There is lots of time for you to get in the "pink" and post your card to the Jingle Belles Rock Blog it ends on Wednesday so head over to the blog and get all the deets on it.

.

I took some silver sparkle paper and cut the leaves and flower petals with a Boss Cuts die and coloured them with alcohol markers, added a flower brad and popped it up on the embossed background. Since I had no rhinestones or stickles here at the cottage I punched dots with a 1/8th punch out of some scrap of pink paper, The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Close up so you can see the sparkle.

Finished  inside (still unsure of the company of the sentiment)

Thinking Of You in Purple

I'm joining in the Hop to Stop raising awareness to Domestic Violence. This is the third year for the hop and I feel honoured to make a card I hope you will join the hop as well.

You see, purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet.

Women between the ages of 15 and 44 are more likely to be injured or die as a result of domestic violence, than through rapes, muggings and car accidents combined.

And women aren't the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender - gender doesn't matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.

This image is one I was given and I don`t know what company it was from.  Since I looked at the butterfly folder and left it home I used an Darice autumn leaves folder  as I wanted some texture. The oval and rectangle  were cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

Please join me at the Hop to Stop with your purple cards.

Thanks for stopping by to see what`s on my creating table to day.

Hey!! It's Saturday!! Time for a NEW Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Challenge #70 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is D is for "Day of the Dead" or "Dia de Muertos" which 2016 is November 1st to November 2nd in Mexico. I thought this challenge was going to give me trouble but searching through my digital images I spotted one from Lacy Sunshine Stamps and ran with it (well created with it)

As you can see I distressed the heck out of the layers (not my favourite task) I found a scrap of Tim Holtz kraft core cardstock (years old) ran it through the bigshot with Tim Holtz brick embossing folder and sanded the heck out of it too. The image is fussy cut and popped up, I added the green vellum die cuts to look like ivy crawling on the wall. Lastly the sentiment is computer generated and translates to Happy Day of the Dead (google was my friend)

close up

Did another google search for Day of the Dead Quotes and found this one from Longfellow.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the SoSS blog and check out what the fabulous design team members have made. Check out the rules too then dig out your mummy, sugar skulls or what every you see that could be for the day of the dead celebration. Lots of options.

It's Another (gah)Pink Christmas card!!!

The Jingle Belles Rock invited the Shopping Our Stash gals to join them making (gah) Pink Christmas cards and this is the reminder it's still happening at the Jingle Belles Rock Blog. Stephanie and Lauren are donating $2 each for every pink Christmas card posted on the blog. You have until 6 p.m. EST October 19, 2016.  Here is my very pink card for the challenge.

I do believe this is a Kraftin' Kimmie image (it was a rak) She has been in my stash for a while and I deemed it perfect for the "pink" challenge. I'm really getting short on pink Christmas patterned paper but thought it looked like designs when you figure skate.

close up of the cute button which is tied with silver thread and the die cut skates.

I stamped the Warm Winter Wishes on the patterned paper and use the die cuts that were left over from the front.

Jingle Belles Rock a (gah) Pink Christmas, check it out!!!

The theme at Jingle Belles Rock is a Pink Christmas, this is a very important challenge, for every pink Christmas card added to their blog both Lauren and Stephanie donate $2.00 each to Breast Cancer, I believe it is research this year,  So get out your pink and join in the fun and let's beat last year's total.

It  has been a beautiful after the holiday time here at the cottage, although I didn't get as much crafting as I planned but I did get one more for the Pink Christmas challenge and parts for two more. I was missing my rectangle dies and I had not one brad available but I have until Wednesday to get them done hope to see your project there.

The sketch is from Stella says Sketch and the image is from Bugaboo, I added white opal liquid pearl to the hat, mitts and bottom of dress. The cute paper is almost the last piece of that squirrel/presents paper that is years old, and the other paper is about the same age.

Finished inside with more of the paper, it reminds me of the circles they do in figure skating.

It's a COLOUR challenge at Shopping Our Stash

What a fabulous Thanksgiving day we had, lots of good food and great family!! As Canada celebrated Thanksgiving the U.S. celebrated Columbus day I hope it was awesome. If you were not celebrating any holiday I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Shopping Our Stash challenge #273 is a Colour challenge, Alica has picked some awesome fall colours.  Now fall colours are one of my least favourite on the colour wheel but I dug my heels in and made it work. I guess that is why it's called a "challenge". Here is what I created.......

Here is the colour inspiration for you .
I used a bundle set from Stampin'up that I have had since last year, I've used the flower dies but not the paper and it had every colour in the colour swatch.

I carried the paper to the inside along with a flower, the sentiment was bought when I first started making cards. All the flowers were cut from scraps. The Thinking Of You was a die cut that was in my little box of treasures. (sometimes I cut several in different colours to see which I want to use)

The gals at Shopping Our Stash were invited to join the Jingle Belles Rock for the Annual (gah) PINK CHRISTMAS!!!

This is the second Pink Christmas we have joined forces with the Jingle Belles, I love making Christmas cards with non-traditional colours so this is right up my "alley". I had this image stamped and had planned on using it for Angels and Fairies but decided to go a different direction with the challenge so out of my image bucket it came and I coloured her up with a pink gown and tinged her wings with pink too.

I found this off-cut in my scrap box and thought perfect for framing my image. I edged it inside and out with a pink marker to give some dimension

A rather fuzzy close up.

Finished inside

Thanks for visiting today and please head over to the Jingle Belles Rock challenge blog and read up on how Lauren & Steph are donating $2 each for every PINK Christmas card added to the blog. This will be for Breast Cancer.
