25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 16

I'm still caught up!! although Friday will be one busy day.  Day 16 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags has some really really great tags to choose from. For today's tag I chose Tracey McNeelys tri-fold tag, I don't have that fantastic tri-fold tag die so I just winged it.

For my "joy" I used some thin chipboard letters I got from Just Enough Stuff as a prize for a challenge on the Jingle Belles. I coloured them with a copic marker.

Now the tag opened.

Here is Tracey's tag.

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 15

Over the half-way mark and I'm still caught up, not sure about tomorrow as it is a very, very busy day and so is Friday.  Today on the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 the sponsor is Muse Christmas Visions Christmas Card club, and there is an awesome prize. The tags from both design teams are awesome and it was hard to choose one for my inspiration.  One really stood out because it had a Penguin on it and it was so cute, the tag belonged to Chriss.

The penguin I sued is from a Stampin'up set, I don't have a snowflake background stamp (gasp) but I have a large square snowflake die (5 1/2 square) I used double sided tape on the white cardstock wide enough for the tag, so I could just stick it to the blue base then I cut the tag,  Chriss heat embossed black around the tag but I just backed the tag on black mostly to save the mess.

Here is Chriss's tag.

isn't he a super cute penguin!

Close up and personal with the pnguin

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 14

Guess what!!! I'm caught up ~~ today is Day 14 of the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 and I have finished day 14 before midnight.  I struggled with finding a tag that I could use for inspiration, it certainly was not the fact that they were uninspiring but I didn't have anything remotely useful to do a tag with.....until all of a sudden a light bulb moment and it came to me.  My inspiring tag is Jessica's tag!!!

Ready made black tag from the dollar stop in Simcoe Ontario, they have a lovely selection of both scrapbooking and jewelry making items. I chose the smallest snowflake from Elizabeth Craft Designs package and the bottom edge is a Stampin'up border die I think the Noel is also a EC die, or it could be IO....too tired to go look, finished the tag with black/white baker's twine and gold cord.

Here is Jessica's Tag.

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 13

I must admit I am having so much fun with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017!! For today's inspiration it's Lindsey's tag, loved the idea and the image and today I received a set of tag dies that have a X stitch edge and I just had to play with them.  Here is what I came up with.

I found I had a bugaboo angel image so I printed it off, coloured and fussy cut. I used wink of stella on her wings and star (should have tried a close up picture) I made the halo with an oval die and trimmed the inside as best I could.

Here is Lindsey's tag.

|Super cute angel tag, I love all the fancy embossed scroll work and the topper for the tag.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned I just had a lightbulb moment and I'm designing my Day 14  tag in my mind now.

Challenge #329 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~ Transportation!!!

At Shopping Our Stash we want to see what you would travel in....lots of ideas...trucks, cars, boats, planes, balloon well you get the idea. I decided to go with something older than me ....a bi-plane. I needed a masculine get well card, if you think a birthday card is hard try making a get well card.

I used Scrap and Stamp with Frenchie's tutorial for the fold, very interesting and very easy to do. the background paper is old and it's the first time I've used the bi-plane image and I've had it for eons. i used a circle of velum for the propeller and  a brad from my stash.

The card when it's open. (the recipient loved it)

Stash items are:
Patterned paper ~~ Stampin'up (3 or 4 years old)
Stamp set ~~ Stampin'up  1/12 to 2 years old
scrap of velum who knows how old lol.

Thanks for joining me today and please stop by the SOS Blog and check out the different types of Transportation the rest of the Design Team have made.

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 12

Finally caught up with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags (for now) It was so hard to pick a tag for inspiration today because they are all fantastic!!! I chose Lindsey's tag again mostly because I had an super cute House Mouse skiing mouse already coloured and fussy cut, score!!! half my work is done!

Again I use some already smooshed cardstock, I'm using up scraps and that's a good thing. Now I don't have a circle tag die so I first cut the hanger part then cut the circle, the sentiment is a peel and stick from that package from the $$ store.

Here is Lindsey's tag day 11

As you see I didn't have red baker's twine or bells but the rest is pretty close, I just love that super cute bunny with the looooooong scarf. Thanks Lindsey for all the inspiration.

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 11

Day 11 at the 25 Days of Christmas tags I picked Lindsey's tag, we seem to have a lot of similar stamps and I love her designs. (all but the colourburst backgrounds)  so for this one I used a piece of already smooshed blue cardstock. Using a spellbinder die I cut the tag. The Merry Christmas is made with the Avery label maker I bought at a yardsale this past summer.  Again the super cute polar bear is one of those mini clear stamps I bought for around a $1, I fussy cut him and the presents are part of another stamp that I fussy cut (what a chore)

Here is Lindsey's tag
Isn't her polar bear just the cutest?

thanks for dropping by today!!

I'm a Guest Design Team member at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!!!

I was very excited and honoured to be invited to be a Guest Designer at one of my favourite challenge blogs. I have been a House Mouse lover for many years and have an over-abundance of stamps. My first House Mouse stamp was bought at a yard sale when I didn't even know what stamping was all about but I was hooked with stamping and house mouse design stamps.  Now what is the challenge?

Challenge #254 at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge is as always Anything Goes with an option of "Frosty" which means lots of glitter and bling!! So without any more chit chat here mine is.

My card is featuring Booda and is a "Gruffie" called Beary Fast Sled.  So for my "snowy" bits I used heat and stick powder and Diamond sugar dust (craft decor) on the snow, Star dust stickles on his hat and silver glitter paper for the frame. The  background was made with Broken china distress oxide ink, I need more practice with the splashing of water on it.

Close up and I hope you can see the glitter on his toque.

I fussy cut the image and popped everything up.

Finished the inside with the off-cut from the background and an ancient sentiment from Stampabilities.

There you have my first guest design team card!! so I hope you will join us at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge for Anything goes with the option of "Frosty"

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day10

Day 10 at the 25 Days of Christmas Tags I chose Tracy's super cute snowman tag and I even did some masking and sponging with distress oxide broken china ink. I also found a couple of my little bells. The image is a Snag'em stamp over 10 maybe even 15 years old. I have a bunch of 99 cent little sets some from Michaels but this one was from Mary Maxim in the U.S. on one of my shopping trips.

The sentiment is a peel and stick sentiment package I bought at Dollar Tree

Here is Tracy's Tag day 10

As you see I even managed to make a mini tag too.

I've been having fun making these super cute tags the only thing is it is so hard to pick a tag to use as inspiration they are all so fabulous, I might even go back and do a few extra as I have not made many tags. Thanks for visiting and stay tuned day 11 will be here soon.

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 9

For Day 9 I chose Kathy Schweinfurth's tag,  It was so cute and I thought I had everything under control but since I was trying to get caught up I forgot to look closely at the tag and I missed the white script on the red and the holly at the bottom, funny I had picked some patterned paper out too.

The image I used is from Bugaboo Stamps, the holly is an unbranded die I bought. The sentiment I am not sure who's it is.

Here is Kathy's Tag day 9

I'm pleased how my tag turned out only three more and I'm caught up and I hope I find time to keep making them on the same day.

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 ~~ Day 8

Be prepared or warned!!! I got caught up on my 25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Wow. Day 8 tag I picked Lindsey's tag with the cute kitty in the stocking, I tried to make a green colour burst background but after two "fails" I chose some already smooshed cardstock.

Of course I didn't have a kitty in a stocking but I had a house mouse in a stocking,

Here is Lindsey's tag ~~ its the one on the right.

That's all for Day 8 Thanks for checking.

It's Saturday and a New Challenge at the Sisterhood!!!

The Sisterhood of Snarky stampers is hosting a new challenge ~~ R is for Remember.  Being a Snarky stamper is sometimes a little hard as I had so much trouble with this challenge, all the R for Remember dt cards were awesome and I hadn't a clue what to do. Of course once I had an idea my printer was out of ink to print the digi that I wanted to use, so a new printer (was cheaper than the two ink cartridges I needed) and I was on my way, with the exception of finding time to put it together. Well now it's done and I'm pleased that it worked the way I envisioned.

When having trouble with what todo find an awesome sketch like Tuesday Morning Sketches 428!! then a super cute image from Bugaboo Stamps.

Well it isn't a big snark but a cute one.  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

25 days of Christmas Tags 2017 ~~ Day 7

I just finished Day 7 tag, I'm hoping on the weekend I can double up one day and be on the same day as the Blog is.  I had to set up a new printer today and of course with just closing the cottage and bringing so much home I needed to spend some time getting things where they belong.  The sponsor for today's blog post is Birch Press Designs. When plan "A" isn't working switch to plan "B" and here it is.

The snowflake die I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I cut it in glitter paper, pink cardstock and white cardstock as I wanted it to be sturdy. I added the scalloped circle die cut because Jeanne layered her snowflake in pink.

My inspiration was Jeanne Jachna's tag

Now the second look at my snowflake tag.....

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 ~~ Day 6

Almost caught up!!! Day 7 is going to take some deep thinking on my part. Day 6 I chose a super cute snowflake adorned tag in pale turquoise and teal by Jen Carter.

I have banner dies but they don't have a round end so I used an oval die to make the round part. The background die is an unbranded die, the merry is from a set I think Hero Arts. Of course I've always been sequin challenged but it was fun having directions on how to place them. The gold snowflakes are from Impression Obsession

Here is Jen's Tag.

Now the close-up

25 Days of Christmas Tags ~~ Day 5

Day 5 of the 25 Days of Christmas tags well it's really Day 7 but I'm playing catch up.  I'm hoping by Thursday to be caught up. I have never made many tags but this challenge is so much fun.

This is my tag, I used a snowflake instead of a star and my sentiment was made with my dynamo label maker and the scallops are a border die from Stampin'up.

Below is Erum Tasneem's tag

I went with the already dotted patterned paper and instead of a star I chose to make a glittery snowflake. I loved the simplicity of the tag, although my glitter ribbon was not usable, it was all fraying and I even got it to curl.

Close up of the snowflake which is an Elizabeth Designs die.

Thanks for visiting today and stay tuned for days 6 and 7.

It's a Colour Palette at Shopping Our Stash!!!

I can't believe it's November already, here in Canada we went back to Standard time and it sure plays havoc with my sleep and eating patterns but I'll survive. At Shopping Our Stash for Challenge #328 it's an Autumn colour palette and here it is.....

Gorgeous colours

I went completely out of my comfort zone for this one which is why it took me forever. First some coaching from the Colorburst Queen aka Lauren and some casing of one of her cards when placing and gluing the leaves then what to do with that brown ribbon? I made a rosette, it doesn't look too bad.

As you see I used an old dictionary and colorburst, my first attempt (I need more practice) The leaves are a set of 4 leaves. Thanks is an unbranded die I've had for a long while and never used.

Since I am not sure of the recipient I just finished the inside with the leftover leaves. they look pretty good for the colour palette if I say so myself.

Everything on my card was from the scrap box except the dictionary pages, the leaves were cut with Cuttlebug leaves dies that came 4 in a package and are metal an foam I have had them as long as my cuttlebug over 15 years.

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 Day 3 second tag.

I had this partially done but needed the ribbon, this is the second tag with the same inspiration tag from Kelly Griglione.

Here is Kelly's tag.

Close up of my tag.

I see a bit of touch up is in order.

Thanks for visiting today and it's fun to play along with the challenge.

25 Days of Christmas Tags 2017 ~~ Day 4

I'm only a day behind with my tags now, it will be easier when I have all my equipment at home,  We had to travel home on Saturday because a bag of stuff was overlooked when we packed and one of the cat's meds were in it (duh) it was a nice drive and because I saw Day 4 I packed a couple of Snag'em Stamps in the bag. One was a pair of mittens.

I used one of the smallest tags from the package of 12 I bought at the Dollar Stop in Simcoe Ontario. I just stamped the mittens on a scrap of blue and the blue twine was taken from a bow on a button that didn't work for a project. Wow talk about using up stuff!!! since my sequins are (you know where) I used some silver/transparent glitter sticker dots from Starform.

The Day 4 tag I chose to use for my inspiration is Jeanne Jachna

Jeanne Jachna's Day 4 tag.

Close up, I added stickles to the mitts and a blue gem to the snowflake and I used a Stitched 8 die to cut the loop for the tag.
